During Family Numeracy Night, I had the pleasure of exploring with a group of parents what it means for a student to be fluent with math facts. This week's column highlights the key ideas that are important for all of us to understand when trying to help our students master fact fluency.
Computational fluency demands more of students than memorizing a single procedure or basic facts. It is the ability to solve single-digit and multi-digit computation with flexibility, efficiency and accuracy.
